In conjunction with most of our events, the chapter strives to “give back” to our local community as well as our credit union community. We conduct numerous fundraisers in various from auctions, donation drives, prize drawings and sales.
While many worthy causes benefit from our fundraising, our primary objectives for fundraising are:
Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation
The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation has three key initiatives: financial education, professional development, and disaster relief. The Foundation’s mission is to empower people to improve their financial well-being. To donate to the Foundation, text CORNERSTONEDISASTER to 44321 or visit their website at https://www.cornerstoneleague.coop/foundation.
TCUL-PAC is our credit union political action committee, organized for the express purpose of raising and spending money to help elect or defeat political candidates, depending on their support of credit union issues, regardless of political party affiliation. The Fort Worth Chapter raises funds for the PAC through candy sales, payroll deductions, the Annual Chapter golf tournament, Chili cookoff and more.
School Christmas Parties
Each year the chapter hosts a pair of Christmas parties, one at Sam Rosen Elementary in Fort Worth and one at Webb Elementary in Arlington. We’re able to share the joy of the season with well over 1,000 children, treating them to a party with carnival games and face painting, a goodie bag with snacks and a present, and a photo taken with Santa.
Credit Unions for Kids
CUFK is the national fundraising vehicle for the credit union movement to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Funds raised at our events go directly to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. To date, Credit Unions for Kids has raised over $1.3 Million dollars for CMN, benefiting over 17 million children.
Recent beneficiaries have included Ronald McDonald House, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Presbyterian Night Shelter, Kids Vision for Life and Summer Santa.
