On April 25, the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions held a cake auction for the benefit of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation, raising $6,754. The chapter has held this auction annually since 2009, and it’s proven to be a fun, collaborative, and sometimes competitive way of raising funds for an organization that gives back so much to the credit unions it serves.
For the auction, baked goods were donated by credit union CEOs, volunteers, vendors, staff, and credit union members. Bidders had their choice of cupcakes, cake balls, brownies, cakes, mason jar trifles, and even Krispy Kreme bread pudding.
Over 100 people were in attendance as new Cornerstone Credit Union League CEO/President Caroline Willard delivered a speech on the importance of sustainability through awareness, advocacy, collaboration, and member experience.
“This event is always one of our more exciting and well-attended meetings each year,” said Fort Worth Chapter President Beth M. Peters. “The Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions would like to thank our bakers and those that came with deep pockets to help benefit this wonderful organization.”
“The continued support and generosity of the Fort Worth Chapter for the Foundation is unsurpassed,” said Foundation Director of Development Staci Zale. “All of us at the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation appreciate all that they do and all that they give. Their impact is felt by all of our credit unions across the Cornerstone region.”
