On Thursday, September 28th the staff of Cornerstone Credit Union foundation presented an interactive Life Simulation at Cowtown Bowling Palace. The Life Simulation experience is designed to help attendees gain an understanding of what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month-to-month. At the conclusion of the exercise, attendees were more aware of the daily realities of many American families living at or near the poverty line and discussed ways to implement key take-aways within our Credit Unions. Walking in another’s shoes is a far more effective way to sensitize others to the needs of immigrants and other low-wage working families than from traditional diversity or classroom learning.
